[s-cars] Future PSO/POS and coil replacement alternatives?

Took a couple of temperature measurements of the POS modules (stock
location.)

Used IR thermometer from Sears ($45 on sale).  Not a precision instrument,
but very handy and informative nonetheless.

After driving for about 1 hour at 85F ambient temperature, shut off car,
open hood, measure temp of black plastic cover: 200F.  Remove cover, measure
temp of POS modules: 174.  Replace cover, close hood, wait 10 minutes (head
soak.)  Open hood, remove cover, measure POS modules again: 174 (again).

Other interesting temperatures I have observed:
EM & turbo: 495-525... or "OL"... overload!
front brake discs: 130-165 (depending on recent driving intensity)
tire temps: 110-135 (again varying)
