If this is a major issue with your car, I would suggest doing what the
factory did with
the Sport Q- using those threaded rods to couple the two pipes
together via welded fittings.

James Bufkin has some photos of this at his website- bufkinengineering.com.

Hard to describe without looking at the photo, but basically makes
hose clamps unnecessary and physically couples the two pipes together
so that you don't have to worry about a hose end slipping.

I figure with the uber garage, you probably have a MIG welder by now.
