Paul,
I used a stiff coathanger. I bent it 180 very sharply, then cut one end off
very close the bent so that I was left with a sharp hook - a barb really. I
stuck the hook into the hole and grabbed the far end of the sleeve with it.
If you are really having trouble, just dig it out with a screwdriver and buy
a new one.

I'm in the process of removing a front control arm, but I'm having
some difficulty pulling out the thin metal sleeve from the inner bushing
so I can pull off the control arm.
I don't wan't to remove the subframe if at all possible.
There's not any part of the sleeve sticking out below that I can
grab with a pliers.
Not long ago someone had the same difficulty, and another
lister suggested using an expansion anchor.
Any sucesful BTDT?
Paul
