Paul,
I have the exact same problem on my 1995.5 Avant! I have asked the list
several times for any BTDT's but no luck yet. I actually have the
entire tailgate trim removed from mine as it has cracked and rattled so
bad it annoyed the hell out of me. In any event, I have the same leak
in the vacuum system preventing my tailgate to lock or unlock. After
messing w/ it several times, I have come to narrow down the leak to the
rubber 'boot' on the actuator that initiates the door mechanism from
moving.
I have tried to patch the leak but to no avail. I have also called
several of the reputable parts guys and no one can find a part number
for me or the part in general- only the entire rear locking a$$embly.
Man, i would love a group but for this part but it would probably be
the smallest 'group' buy in history. kind of tough when you own one of
the rarest of all production cars ever imported to N. America i
guess.....
sincerely,
matt ludwig.
