[s-cars] VC torque--ooops & now hood problem

OK,
So I definitely over tightend the VC, I snugged them down with
moderate force but it was certainly more than the 6-7 ft/lbs I
since found out from helpful listers.  Is there any problem
backing them off now (ie..need another gasket & do over) or is
it not a problem to back off unless it leaks?  ( I think I
almost answered my own question there!)

Also,
since doing this service saturday my hood will not open unless a
helper pushes down on the DS corner of the hood while I pull the
cable.  The PS pops up fine but the DS doesn't want to pop up
unless someone pushes down on it.  Any suggestions there?
