I think my mechanic replaced the subframe bushings in a couple of hours.
Nothing like the 5 hrs quoted.

When I had the same shudder in sweeping turns it was caused by a failed
strut (shock absorber). They would work just fine most everywhere else,
probably due to the torsion bar transferring damping from one side to
another. But when the bad side had a chance to lift off, it was free to hop.
