[s-cars] Expected Life of thermostat and/or MFTS

Yeah, I don't know why they fail so regularly either, Dave. If it wasn't for
our cold winters here, I wouldn't realize mine was bad - it works just fine
at ambient temperatures above -20. The thermostat in my wife's Camry is 10
years old and it works fine - you'd think Audi could come up with a similar
robust design. Maybe the new ones are manufactured at a, umm, "less quality
conscious" location than the OEM equipment.

Thanks, Sean, Douglas, Fred and Bob.  It would seem that I should be
replacing my T-stat.  The previous one had lasted 4 years (or more) so I
figured the new one should do the same.  Seems odd.  Its not like there
are computer chips or anything similar inside.  Its mechanical for
heaven's sake.  Oh, well.  Its not much in the big picture.
