Hi my name is Paul and it's been 2.37654906 days since I last wrenched
my UrS...
OK, so whilst under there installing Stebel #2 (muwahahahaha it sounds
awesome with a full size and a compact run together), I noted my right
outer rack boot has torn away from the outer end.
Wonnnnnnnnnderfulllllllll. Awesome.
Any BTDT as far as replacement??? I'm envisioning REALLY ugly rack
removal, etc. All for a stupid rubber boot. Someone really should
engineer boots that can be replaced w/o having to remove things (CV
boots etc.!).
Dunno how much of my bellypanless winter (long story) it's been like
that, but, how 'bad' is it to have it being run like that? Should I zip
tie some ghettobags on there until I can 'get to it'??? Realistically
it'll have to wait until Ur3kq becomes 4 once again (longer story,
getting close!) and I can afford the UrS off da road. Kinda fun being
seen in that thing "gee Paul... I'm sorry, I thought you had a job,
were married, kids, house, etc... sorry to see you're down on your
luck" heh heh.
So, gee, why not, not like I had anything 'better' to do. Add this to
the list of Spring Cleaning I guess... already includes a call to
Spokane House of Hose. Maybe I'll do both at once since it'll be off
the road. Heck, might as well install the torsen rear diff while at it
too... hmmmm...
Again, any insight on the boot appreciated. As well as J-hose removal
tips while yer at it. And torsen install 8-).
