Bill,
Assuming there has been no "unauthorized" work done back there I would 
think you
have a solid case.  There have been several hood rust problems handled 
by the Audi
warranty.
I fail to understand how the glass replacement would be covered by the 
rust through
warranty.  :-)  ???
I saw a S6 tailgate for sale off I85 near the GA-SC line.   Or a A6 
gate should work as well.
