[s-cars] tires... more fitment q's

Calvin,
Even with 255/40R17 on 17x8 ET30 wheels, the tires never stuck out
past the fenderwell.

In fact, they never even really came that close. It looked pretty
"full," but that was about it.

I've seen rear 9s and 10s- they too often stick out too far. Someone
brought an S6 with RS6 wheels on it to S-Fest a couple years ago- that
offset and wheel width made the tires stick out past the flares just
enough that it wouldn't be SCCA-legal. I think RS6 wheels are 19x9
ET25, though.

UrS cars with 245s and 255s look downright mean from behind- looks
like you're running steamroller tires.
