I just got some 255/40-17 ES-100 tires on 17x8 ET35 OZ SL rims and started
fitting them last night (just got the rf and rr on). I also have H&R
Sports. I think they look a little too wide on the rims (an 8.5" rim is
recommended by Yokohama), although the combo does look really tough on the
car (and there's decent rim protection if my wife should have to parallel
park it sometime, God forbid). I also see that when turning the steering
wheel to full right lock, the outside edge of the right tire contacts the
plastic fender liner behind the wheel (a few inches in from the fender lip).
I haven't driven it, yet, so don't know yet if it'll rub significantly in
parking maneuvers (or full jounce). I've also read mixed reviews of the
ES-100 tires, but I got a good deal mounted/balanced, so we'll see. Should
be a big improvement over my stock size Proxes FZ4 in any case.
