Hap!
Warning LAC!

I once heard a Marine pilot tell me this about flying over the Grand
Canyon.
Can this be true?

"Flying over the deck at X feet , at Y knots, approaching the rim of
the GC.
Flip the jet 180 degrees, cockpit now facing the ground, belly side UP.
 watch for the rim.
Just past the RIM, pull the stick Back TO CLIMB, down, below the rim, in
the negative direction.
Heading (fast) for the bottom of the GC now, rotate the plane
(having about 5000 feet to accomplish this) and
Climb out to the clear blue Arizona sky.

I thought he was crazy or highly exaggerating.

as a
USAF pilot ;-) How do you spell GRAND CANYON anyway???

Hap, wit moh dakine stories than I can remembah in Evahboost, Maguire
