1. That bulb is radio shack part 272-1092. Two for $1.49 IIRC.
Of course, you have to remove the instrument cluster, remove the
temp display and desolder the old bulb from the circuit board and
solder the new bulb in.
I just replaced a bulb in what is now a spare temp display, but I
haven't
tested it in place yet. If the above information has slowed your ardor
for lighting this display, we may work something out. I'm in
Knoxville, but
am covered up for a while.
2. Audi 100 1996 Front (only) ecru floor mats 4A1 041 601 P44. See
your
friendly local Audi dealer. Some claim the color is a little darker
than original
S4, they are a dead--on match for my S6, and there are plenty in the JAX
warehouse.
3. Too hard. Or, too much work for too little gain. Look at the
wiring at the
flexible protection where it passes through the drivers front door
hinge area.
You might get lucky there, or prevent another problem. Also, there
is nothing
on this car that can "be easily gotten to and fixed". :-)
4. On your boost question, the usual honking/fluttering noise is on
boost, not
on reduction, but you should learn all about the bypass valve, since the
southern heat eats them. If performance appears ok, this is probably
the
culprit. I think Scott Mockery's site has the info:
