[s-cars] HID lights group buy- $185/set delivered

Lee's comment about Bruce's scientific approach caught my eye. There
is not much true science that finds it's way to this list. That
missive was a measure
of my superior intellect, not time spent on someone's email. I
was trying to convey that my dollars have been spent with Andy Chui
and appear well spent so far.
The other option of e-code HID's for the S6 have not proven worth
the expense IMO.
With my untrained eyes, this conversion in projector low beams is
indistinguishable in performance from the factory HID on the A4 that
shares the garage.
This is for a kit that was 1/3 the cost of comparable kits ( ie, the
$550 H1 kit in the sedan). I was a little skeptical at first, but he
shipped my kit overnight fedex,
so it quickly faded. I see he is saving a little money by using 3
day shipping now.
I agree with your arguments that many of the conversions should not
be on the road, but some of this is installer error, lots shoddy
equipment and bad design.
The biggest hurdle for the S4/S6 is cleaning up the headlamps before
either HID or HIR upgrade ( or putting them in new headlamps).
One approach is not the cure-all for everyone. Declining night
vision prompted my conversion. Youthful fighter pilots with steely
nerves may want to turn the lights off
altogether on the trip from Pancho's. YMMV
Tom
P.S. It was not my intent to reproach anyone for their views on this
subject. I was attempting to point out the lack of any scientific
methodology in analyzing the HID
kit Lino proposed to buy. I don't consider myself too sensitive to
comments on this list. That said, I do find words such as, "Do as
you like." and "I do truely (sic) hope"
to be condescending beyond the norm.
