the biturbo S4 has HID for the low-beams, and they have
a very fast light-off time.  the startup time is virtually
indistinguishable from halogens, though the HID is only
at about 80% of its brightness in the first couple of seconds.

you think the volvo is bad?  try a miata with flip-up
headlights.
