[s-cars] Poor gas mileage

Howdy Graham!

I'm from Canada (Vancouver) and have a 1997 S6 too with 178,000 km on
it. What city are you from?

170,000 miles on an original O2 sensor is way too long. O2 sensors
should be changed every 100,000 km and the t-stat is normally done at
the t-belt/water pump change as its easily accessible. Does your car
take a long time to heat up or is it always cold. Mine gets to 90
celcius pretty quickly.

Also, I get pretty much 500 km on 60 litres, that's 75% hwy / 25% city
driving. That's even with the RS2 stuff!
