Craig,
You have my deepest sympathy.. Just done replacing the head gasket (paper
type, what a marathon!!), and pulling off my last strands of hair on the
lifters that 'never' bled off, regreased the completely dry wiper mechanism,
refubishing the temperature flap motor (just to get another error..),
regreasing and patching the steering rack boot, replacing the steering
damper, and last but not least putting in a new left control arm and damper
boot, just to hear the dammned left side clanking on the next trip..(maybe a
shot shock?) Sigh.. Well, it took more than a weekend, but now the car
_should_ run for some km's more.. (shouldn't spell that out loud!) Inspected
under the car, and the following seems to be a bit due soon: rusted fuel
lines, rusted fuel tank, _all_ the driveshaft gaskets and rusted exhaust
system. (wasn't that supposed to be stainless??)
On top of that, the UFO's are shaking loose up front.. (No wonder they were
replaced!!)
Well, glad I have a Toyota to run at least in the summer! :D

S-friends -
I wrote last week for poof! no boost - and then this week I get the dreaded
oil pressure sending unit leak. Dumped all over my driveway last night and
this morning, and then every where else I went. I didn't notice until I
pulled in the driveway tonight and saw a stain that could be only one thing.
Sh!t. Grabbed a flashlight, checked the oil, down two. Started the engine,
flashed the sender, blub blub blub. Sh!t.
So now, I got that, no boost, an out of round LF Michelin Pilot, and three
more worn out ones. The new Pilot Alpins arrive at Costco tomorrow - pretty
tough to go in dripping.
Looks as if it is time to tell the four women in my life I have to spend a
weekend on maintenance. Might as well put in the ignition switch while I am
at it. It feels sticky in this oh so cold 20F weather we have been having.
Stacking it up in Seattle....
