[s-cars] RF Remote operation sporatic - ign. switch?

Patient: 95.5 S6 Avant:

My RF remotes are becoming sporatic.  I had both with me tonight - and
either they both work, or they both don't work.   So I don't think
it's a matter of reception.

I don't think the remotes work when the ignition is ON - so I'm
wondering if this is the first symptom of my ignition switch biting
the dust?
