Kevin,
that instrument panel sensor does seem a little high. I'll have to check mine
when I get back in the car.

I recently had a heating issue, but it coincided with a coolant replacement. I
suspect that I had air in the system that eventually worked it's way out
because the problem is gone. 

Have you had the coolant replaced recently? Is the coolant topped off?
