[s-cars] Snow tire problem

 You know we have a Nokia (tire) dealer in Ann Arbor now... I really perfer the Hakka's over the Blizzakiiii.. Just personal opinion.

Graspic snow tires on the S6 Avant. FWIW they are mounted on the
16x8" UrS4 factory 5 spoke wheels. The tires are a few seasons old,

Rats - I hadn't really planned on spending $$$ on a new set of snow

So a couple of questions - 

1) Anyone have a used 225/50/R16 snow tire (or 2 or 4) with at least
1/2 tread ? ( to get me through 1 more month of snow)

2) Any opinions on putting 205/55 R16 tires on the 16x8" rims?
Everything I've read so far says the 8" rim width is too wide.

3) TIre-rack replacement set seems to be the Blizzak LM-22's, at $608
shipped (ouch!!) Any BTDT on these LM-22's ?
