[s-cars] fog lamps w/o low beams

If you're running them as DRLs, no problem with that. It's the idiots
who drive at night, in clear weather, at 80mph on the highway in
traffic with nothing but their fogs on that really get me. I have no
idea how they manage to see- must be worse than my '86 5ktq with
pitted DOT lamps.

Bad thing about using fogs as DRLs is that due to the low mounting
point, in poor visibility or at night, it looks like the car is much
further away than it actually is. That can make it dangerous if other
drivers misjudge the distance. I'm guessing you're talking about the
C4 chassis A6, with the fogs in the main headlamp assembly, right? In
a C5, you have this "low mount" issue, as do most cars.
