Hi Dave,
I have the Bilstein sport shocks. I got the strut mounts, bearings and
bellows from ECStuning...

ECS will ship to the UPS Store in Ogdensburg where you can drive down and
pick up in States and bring back thru customs - saves a lot of cash on
shipping and brokerage fees. And teh parts are cheaper. I tried hard to
source north of the border but would have been $100s out of pocket.
I ended up with dead even drop of 20mm in all four corners. Also got new
control arms from www.germanautoparts.com. They also have the Boge struts
which are the OE ones you may be looking for.
Whilst the front end is apart are you planning on replacing the wheel
bearings? I have two new unused bearings and bolts - I can do you a deal.
There is a writeup somewere for turning off the DRLs and posts in this
thread to disassociate the fogs from the lo-beams. Try S-cars.org ... found
it...

If you want to see the Eibach/Bilstein combo, drop a line and we can meet at
Tim's for coffee and donuts.
Is there such a thing as "Northfest"? Don't need the cars, just coffee and
donuts!

Saw that one go by today in the fog lamp thread.

Any pointers to write-ups on that procedure? I too suffered an HD
failure a couple of months back and lost all my carefully collected
BTDTs, HOWTOs and associated links.

Yeah, I spoke with John at RJ Motors and he had a look at the car.
Since I have to have much of the suspension bits replaced anyways
(they're all original) and everything's already going to be apart, I'm
going to get John to put in the Eibach springs I've had in my basement
for the last two years. I'm still on the fence regarding which shocks
to use though. John's recommending just using new OEM gas shocks for
the S4 (not sure which brand - forgot to ask him), but everyone seems
pretty happy with the Bilstein SPs. What shocks did you end up using?
Either way, since I have the 1517.002 Eibach rear springs with the extra
coils in the rear, I'll need to have an extra perch groove machined in
the body of the shock one centimeter lower to get the rear ride hight
correct. Otherwise the car sits with it's back end in the air (
http://www.elektro.com/~audi/eibach/ ).
