Evening S gentz,

So picture this, I'm relaxing on my couch about to watch some
documentary on the history channel when the wife calls. Seems her car
won't start...after some discussion I find out that when she started it
to leave work the key "got stuck" in the start position and she had to
make it go back.

Well when she went to start it again the car would start but
immediately shut off. So our hero goes out into the frigid Michigan
night to rescue the fair maiden. He soon discovers that the ignition
switch has failed (no surprise), the car will start and run if you hold
the key in the right spot. Well not wanting to pay a $95+ towing bill
our hero volunteers to drive the car home....not fun! Imagine this
scene, driving onto and on the highway shifting with your left hand and
holding the key with your right, all while trying to stay in your snowy
lane! But I digress!!

I have found Franco Barber's write up on replacing the switch, wanted
to make sure there weren't any other hidden surprises. I also found out
today the "tumbler" part comes out of the ignition switch on it's own.
Will rectifying this be part of a normal ignition switch replacement or
are we in for more fun?

Thanks for any and all input
Chris
