I think my "deal" is about as good as you can get from one of the better
online places. I got some 5ktq parts a while back, and it was about the
same as anyone else gets.
If I find any loopholes though....

I don't work on the EHB systems, but I'm in that division so this is
only one step above recreational speculation,
The hydraulic units can only build up to a certain pressure, not exactly
sure how many bar that is, I don't think pressure was really the issue.
It must have been that they needed so much torque at the wheel, and that
drove the dual calipers, then the dual calipers need a certain amount of
volume to build torque, which called for 2 EHB units. The system has to
be able to move enough fluid to fill all the calipers in a certain
amount of time to get the stopping distance and the vehicle controller
(ESP) interventions fast enough.
The SBC already has a hydraulic back up built into it if the system
shuts down, so I think Daimler and Bosch trusted the system.
And, since that is kind of the flagship, I think technology for
technology sake had something to do with it.
The UrS's have an older bosch ABS in them, but I haven't poked around
into it yet, just got my car recently!

Was the reason for that
A) They couldnt get enough pressure/torque out of one brake system?
B) They weren't confident in EHB reliability ?
or
C) Technology for the sake of Technology?

How does that work? Isn't the target of ABS to be a slip controller,
not a brake torque controller ?

Anyway, welcome to the list - are you in Farmington Hills then?
