I had this done on my 200q recently. It was a PITA. There is an arm that
goes through the steering column on my car to interlock the steering
wheel. Since the tab broke out of the back of the tumbler (the piece
that goes into the electrical connetor), I had to replace the tumbler.
To get the the tumbler out, the steering lock arm had to be rotated 90
degrees and there was not enough room. So the wheel had to come off, and
I believe the steering column dropped to allow the room to pivot the
tumbler with the steering cloumn interlock arm. Since your tumbler is
already out, the problem will be on the install (don't you just love "to
install just r and r!) if the C4 chassis has the same setup. Check the
archives over the last 6 months or so.
Regards,
Jerry
