I agree with others re the TAP chip. When you installed the ECU with TAP
chip, you should have cranked the wastegate spring down 6 turns. (If it
won't go down the full 6 turns, don't force it.) You'll need to remove
the factory installed plug to do so. Then, you should be good to go.
Never heard of anyone needing to rebuild the WG and there are some HIGH
mileage cars on this list.

>Ugghh... i heard this before :-) How it came about was i fell into a wrecked S6 avant for cheap, couldn't properly fix it and decided to sell the car whole, which you may remember being for sale on this list last year at this time. The S6 had a TAP chipped ECM, which i swapped into the 94 S4 that I acquired. The S4 was previously a one owner and kept stock all its life. So by default (and free) i had a chipped S4 and was happy, but of course what did I know?! Anyway, I'm aware that the TAP is not the best chip out there. The reason i asked about the WG spring is that i was browsing TAPS site looking for antennas and came across the section where they offer chips, springs and map sensors in various forms of up upgrades, all w/o having to swap in a better EM. FWIW, i have a 90/90q with the AAN engine and all the RS2 mods, so i'm familiar with that level of performance (car's not running yet). But as far as my S4, like anyone else, i'd like the most amount of HP possible withou
