Strong factory 16's are the way to go around here for the winter.  And
never less than a 50 series tire.  This was a large reason why I kept
my forged 16's from the 93 S4 for winter tires,  when I swapped to a
95.5 S6 (and sold the Avus's with the S4...).  At that point just make
sure you have tires with a good sidewall, decent tire pressure, and
road hazard insurance. :-)

So what are you going to be driving on the tracks?  I assume not the
UrS4 since you mention its a commuter..
