Subject: [s-cars] Crank Case Pressure and Turbo Smoke?
Gents,
In my quest to figure out why my TO4E turbo is smoking between the
center section and hot-side housing I am finding out that a high
compressor housing pressure can case this.
Per Ola at ITS:
"It sounds like the oil is still leaking past the seal....however, this
does not mean that the seal is defective....most likely it is leaking
due to oil level inside the bearing housing is able to reach the area of
the piston ring seal, this "seal" which is not there to keep oil in, but
to keep pressure from the exhaust out, cannot stop the oil from flowing
past it.
Suggestion; if you have not already made significant upgrade to you
crankcase breathing system, do so."
This is really something I dont understand too well...nor know how to
alleviate or measure to see if that is the cause
Any help/advice on this issue would be appreciated
Thx
Cody
