[s-cars] Tranny Advice

S-Heads:
I'd like to have my 5-speed rebuilt -- not interested in the extra ratio of
the 6 speed.  My question is how specific does the shop's experience need to
be?  I have a trusted independent mechanic who drives an S6 himself; is it
acceptable for him to R&R and send the tranny to a local rebuild shop that
he's had experience with OR is this a strange enough beast that the tranny
needs to be sent to special Hans und Franz rebuilder?  I live in Seattle,
somewhere I recall hearing of an S-car tranny guru in Portland??
Any comments/advice welcomed
