Jerry:

There is prolly more to the story than you wrote, but given what you did
write I would suspect your battery.

Regards,

Mark

Subject: [s-cars] cold weather starting

Here's another cold weather problem. I'm having starting problems at
high altitude, (8500 ft.) and 0 deg. F., after sitting over night. I've
tried checking the resistance on the sensor on the back of the engine,
but that seems ok. I haven't tried pulling VAG codes, but will do that
next. I was told by Fred Munro that the engine has a cold starting
procedure that allows the injectors to spray longer at lower
temperatures, but I don't know how to check that it is going into the
cold starting mode. Has anyone else seen this problem?

It will eventually start when I jump the battery to a car that has the
engine running, but can't get it to fire otherwise.
