[s-cars] Radio Security Code?

I have purchased a used radio (an OEM model) from a friend in the US, who
was parting out his S4.  However, he did not have the security code.  He
told me that if I had the original car's VIN # and the Radio # that any Audi
dealer would be able to tell me the security code!

However, this was not the case.  The dealer in my area said that they only
have the security codes from cars that were originally sold there.

I asked my friend if he knew where the original dealership was, but
unfortunately he did not know.

Is there any other way to find out what the security code is?
