Kevin,

Bose car audio is actually Blaupunkt.  Go to their website and download one of the install manuals for a funline series head unit, in this manual will be the wiring diagram for the pin-out on the back of the radio.  The newer blau units have three wire blocks...refer to the lower two 8-pin sets, these should look familiar.

One set of the 8-pin blocks is for amplifier powered systems, the other is a powered output for non-amped systems.  On the 80 series cars, to include the cabriolet, Audi used an amp on the rear speakers and tapped into the powered outputs to drive the front speakers.

This should put you in the right direction.
