[s-cars] Rear-mounted Squires Turbo System - good for S-cars?

Sam and Dave (McBride) installed one of those "wierd" rear-mounted turbo
systems on a 350 Camaro on today's TwoGuysGarage (on Speed Channel).
They tested it on a Mustang eddie current (2 wheel) dyno and it took the
HP from 269 to 405 and added 140 ft-lbs (or so) of torque - all on the
stock engine management and fuel systems.   And  this with only 5 psi
boost (hmmm....).  There is also a kit for methanol injection which
permits a bit more boost (7 psi instead of 5 psi).  I wonder (out loud)
a) why this seems to work so well with only a bit of boost and b)
whether it would have any application to an S-car.
