[s-cars] Weather related double whammy

Is your battery under the rear seat as it is in the sedan version?  If so, 
go ahead and replace it.  The ECU won't mind.  You will need to recode your 
radio, though.

Getting the hood open can be a real PITA.  I removed the crossover pipe 
behind/below the radiator and managed to snake my arm up high enough to 
manually operate the hood release lever.  It only took me about two hours 
of fiddling with it  and some blood sacrifice to manage opening the 
hood.  The end clip of the release cable has probably come off and 
disappeared into never-never land.  Until a replacement piece can be 
obtained it is possible to temporarily attach a couple of wires to pull the 
release levers from in front of the car.  It ain't purdy but you'll be able 
to get in and the wires can be removed when you are through with them.
