[s-cars] APIKOL short shifter opinions

One thing that should be noted is that the Apikol SSK replaces the old
worn out assembly. They take brand NEW Audi OEM components/linkage and
modify them to decrease the throw. This replaces the worn out unit and
reduces throw. The NEW OEM components un-modified retail from around
~$95 from the dealer part 4A0 711 185 B
Not sure how the Billzcat unit is going to work but I doubt it replaces
the worn out assembly but just reduces throw...but I could be wrong
there. But at 95 bucks for just the part I would assume they are
reducing throw in a different manner.

Alex (20vt'ed 90q) @ www.euro-audi-parts.com will soon have stock of
the Billzcat1 (of the typ89 short shift kit fame) S-car Short Shift
Kit. From what I've heard pricing will be ~$150, but don't hold me to
that. It's in it final beta testing and should be ready VERY shortly.
I'd wait to buy an SSK until the Billzcat1 unit is launched. Even if
you are not interested in the Billzcat1 kit, the introduction of
another S-car SSK into our community may cause Apikol to reduce cost
of their kit. I assume the same will happen with the Apikol FMIC when
the Mullane/Swanson FMIC is developed. Competition is good ;-)
