Lee,
	Thx..for the tip..I actually had to put more of a rainbow curve
in it to get her to lie flat..but thanks for putting me on the right
track.  It was quite the "arm" wresting match..pun intended.  Not sure
if it was the right thing to do..but she is flat now.

Works fine on my wife's '96 A6. It looks to me like your wiper arm is
much more curved than my wife's wiper arm. Hers is more parallel to the
windshield.

Try straightening the arm a bit to see if the gap lessens.
