In fact, all e-code headlights do not have front marker lights like we
do in North America. The side lights are for signalling (indicating)
only and hence only have a single filament bulb. I still haven't got a
straight answer on the "city lights" - some say they are used in the
city where there are high levels of ambient lighting and the main dipped
beams are off, while others say they are for parking on the street.
On to your question...
Are the indicators on the C5 built in to the headlight or separate like
the C4? On my C4 S6, I used the DOT indicators which clip onto the
euro-spec headlamps and maintain the running light and indicators and I
wired the parking circuit to the city lights.
If the C5 is the same, then I would assume that you could do this. If
the C5 indicator is built into the headlamp, then you will have to
modify the bulb holder and/or mount so it accepts a dual filament bulb.
I think it's a matter of cutting off one of the "ears" on the bulb
holder so it engages into the back of the indicator.

This makes it awfully difficult to swap these lamps onto a NA car. The
connectors are built into the housing so it doesn't look like a simple
mod to make these twin filament bulbs.
Anyone else try this particular upgrade?
