So far my (ex) '01 S2000 has my '90 Miata beat in the shifter
category.  (by metrics of feel as well as throw)
Then again when I get a functioning slave cylinder, I might have a
different opinion.

The linkage and bushings are everything.   The 01E in my (ex) 968CS
shifted MUCH nicer than the 01E's in my (ex) UrS4 and UrS6.
