[s-cars] Low fuel gauge level

Harold,

I had the same problem with one of our S4's.
Problem is the wire that goes to the bottom of the float, it moves and
this movement causes it to eventually start to break. Soon your guel
gauge will cease to work.

I removed the float and repaired the break in the wire, 18 months later
and it still works fine.

To gain access to the float you will need to remove the trunk carpet.
Remove the round cover that is held in place with 3 screws.
Now you can disconnect the wiring to the pump and the fuel lines
Using a screwdriver and a hammer tap the round clip and remove the clip
Now you can lift out the float....if memory serves me correctly.
