Aha. You didn't mention that before.
Check out a '95 Range Rover County (short wheelbase) or a Discovery. Quirky,
not the most reliable vehicles in the world, but built like tanks and strong
as oxen. They'll tow 5000 lb or more, IIRC.
The Range Rover is also a very nice truck on the inside. The '94 and earlier
trucks are somewhat agricultural in comparison.
I had a '95 County Long Wheelbase and then a '99 Range Rover 4.0 SE. Had
good luck with both.
Benefit with either the Range Rover or the Discovery is that if you choose
to do some offroading, the stock truck is amazingly capable.
In fact, I *rented* a couple of Discovery's before I bought my Range Rover
and took them offroading with the local LR group.
