EGT guidlines? was Re: [s-cars] NAC? - Towing Capacity Figures

I can't speak to gas turbos specifically, but here's another data point.  

On my Dodge Cummins turbo diesel, I use 1200F as a don't exceed red line.
The EGT probe is centered in the exhaust manifold outlet, right upstream
from the turbo.  

The highest temperatures usually occur pulling a heavy load up a long
steep hill while trying to maintain Warp III speeds.
