Paul;

I have seen listers post that they repaired these motors on Type 44 cars by
opening up the potentiometers and cleaning the track.

I fixed a temp reg flap static block on my '91 200q by cleaning and applying
Stabilant 22 to the motor wiring connector.

Subject: [s-cars] Climate control problems

This winter, the Avant has gradually become more sluggish at responding to
the up/down/vents controls on the climate control. In the beginning I was
getting an odd intermittent error, now it wants to blow air in my face all
the time, and I'm betting a fairly solid:
08.7 - Temperature Regulator Flap, sporadic block
11.5 - Central Flap, static block

These flap motors are not cheap - has anyone had success at opening the flap
servos and cleaning/rebrushing the motors?

Strangely enough, last winter it was the saloon who's flaps were
intermittently playing up - this year they're a bit noisy, but they work and
there are usually no error codes.
