[s-cars] Fuel Line Recall

The 2nd edition of the KY recall is on <www.s-cars.org> along with
all the other recalls.
When it was expanded to include the S6, Audi decided to save some
money and just route
a new hose instead of removing the steering rack to replace the old
line. It is something of
a hack job in appearance, but the many hours needed to replace the
line was hard to justify
just for looks. It is a competent job and one that is needed by all.

I have to wonder how much of the problem is due to the technician
putting unnecessary
strain on the line when changing filters. This section of fuel line
is one of the highest
usage items for Ford, broken changing the filter.

It would pay to inspect the new line on occasion just as you did the
suspect OEM line
before recall, and as you do spark plugs, wheel lugs, etc.
