Hey all, been kinda busy fixing all the non Audi breakdowns my friends and
family have, makes me feel better about my "Too expensive to fix"car.
After spending alot of time searching the web about header design I can
conclude that it is more art than science. Some basic principles will work
like equal length tubes and keeping internal aerodynamics as smooth as
possible, but most people say packaging make most of the design decisions.
I did find a few sites on Variable geometry turbos, anyone here used one or
looked at one? They are expensive but give many advantages like better low
speed response and higher pressures at the top end.
As far as tubing, I have a welder friend here in town that can get thick
wall titainium so maybe when I settle on a design... Most likley, I will use
mild steel and coat it.
