[s-cars] Short Shifter Comparison

Chris,

I'm running Alex's SS. At the time I did the swap, I
wasn't driving the car much and did not notice a big
difference at first. However, after driving the
Coupe (which used to feel the same as the S) I can
really tell the difference. My shifter is set to
reduce throw 15%.

Whatever you do, take the opportunity to fill the
shift rod with lead. It greatly improves shift feel
too. In addition to some buckshot that Paul K
donated, I cut up some old wheel weights into
slivers, dropped them into the shaft, and melted the
whole mess with a torch.

BTW, Alex replaces all the bushings too. This alone
is worth the money and effort.

Tom

I am debating between the Europrice and Bilzcat SS
kits. I can have my car
down for a few days without a problem. I dont mind
sending the core into Alex,
etc.

Which one has the better materials? Which one has the
better feel?

Any other pros and cons?

Thanks,
Chris
