[s-cars] possible ignition problem

I have an update on this......
Last night I decided to clean most of the electrical contacts underneath
the electrical cover (where the POS units are).

After I cleaned everything (with electrical contact cleaner), the Check
Engine Light came on. Great, I try to make the car better, and I actually
make it worse. Oh well. I proceed to use the 'blink' method to figure out
the CEL. Fault code 2342 comes up.

According to SJM, 2342 means: "Oxygen Sensor Sensor Wiring or Sensor
defective Heat resistor in sensor defective, Signal wiring shorted to
ground, Fuel tank empty, Ignition system component failure, air leak at mass
air flow sensor, air leak in exhaust pipe before catalyst, poor engine
ground wire. Symptom: Emissions not within specifications"

OK, the obvious answer is to replace the O2 sensor. Well, I already did that
a few months ago. However, I'm still getting very poor gas mileage. Before I
drop $100 on another one, I'd like to make sure that's the problem. Has
anyone had any problem with the 02 sensor wire or connector? I examined the
wire and the connections and everything looked normal.

Oh, and I've had an idle problem every since I bought the car a year ago.
The car seems to hunt for the proper RPM at idle after it's warm. I'm pretty
sure that the 02 sensor or the wiring/connector is causing this.

Any suggestions/recomendations?

Thanks in advance.
