Tony:  The temperature data may not be correct (faulty IAT).  In any event, I am
(finally) installing a Tom Mullane/Marc Swanson front-mounted intercooler kit
tomorrow. So temps will be down.  Nevertheless, what you are describing is Hap
McGuire's solution (of a few years ago) to "negative" boost.  It worked for him
(and others).
