Those bulbs are (used to be) only a couple bucks each at
the dealer. And you can get 2V (brighter) ones cheaper at
Radio Shack.

If you are lucky, you can clean the ribbon cable connections
on the back of the cluster. That might take care of the funky
display. If not, you probably need a new cluster.

I'll pass, but...  Is the display LCD or LED?  Most radios
have a wire connected to the light switch that is used to
signal the display brightness.  If it is connected, then
maybe a bulb that provides the brightness is dead.
