A timely topic since one failed on my drive home tonight.
First time this happened maybe four years ago, I freaked out, limped
to FLADealer who took two days to figure it out. I had a Wetterauer
chip installed and they said they couldnt pull codes... charged $300
labor and IIRC $330 for this seemingly $12 part.
Subsequently somewhere sometime ago I had acquired another one and
amazingly hadn't lost it and tonight, after 10 minutes work, all is
well.
Now where's that write up on switching to open terminals?
I knew immediately what it was as I pulled over, opened the hood,
reached through my invisible yet no cost injector cover and unplugged
injector 1 with no change in idle wuffness.
Oh I was happy I must say because this was surely a heat induced
failure providing some real evidence that these are heat sensitive
suckers but more importantly tomorrow I will have opportunity to see
if that has been the cause of the stumble at wot 27psi. It sure felt
identical.
