Ivan,
You are correct that the speed sensor DTC 2111 is not stored after
display without engine running.
The Bentley list of DTC's on about page 1-20 lists 2 possible
conditions that will be displayed with
the code on the VAG 1551 ( or VAG/COM), either no change in signal or
mechanical malfunction.
The symptoms associated with no change in signal are engine does not
start, misfires, or engine
stalls--none of which you have reported except at wot.
So, this could be a spurious code dropped because of a rust flake on
the flywheel or loose sensor
and it might not return if you clear it.
The mechanical malfunction condition has symptoms of engine does not
start, so that's probably not it.
Check the repairing malfunction column in Bentley for repair action
after noting the conditions that cause
this DTC. Check that the sensor is not loose, check and clean the
connector. and check the wire for breaks
shorts, etc. Make sure you have checked those engine grounds also.
Does your sensor look like this ? If so, check
<www.bimmerparts.com> for a reference sensor( or whatever
online supplier you desire). I don't know the dealer price, but
don't think it is a common failure item.
